He isn't so little anymore. :( He is growing up way too fast! Last week I was on the computer after I had put him to bed and I heard a LOUD thud and him screaming over the monitor. I ran into the room to find him not in his crib, but on the floor! My heart nearly jumped out of my throat. Luckily he was okay and did not get hurt. He somehow climbed out of his crib (on the lowest setting already) and when he got to the top he fell out. Since Scott is gone, my sweet Daddy offered to transition his crib to a toddler bed. We got him a convertible crib so it goes from crib to toddler bed to full size bed. I was not ready for this transition and I thought I would be up all night trying to get him to stay in the bed, but *knock on wood* he has been doing great!
He has been talking up a storm too. I feel so bad, it seems like the week after Scott left, Alex started saying new word after new word. His latest is "empty". It comes out in two syllables more like em-teeeeeeeeeeee! :)
Scott is doing well. About a week and a half ago they switched him to night shift and as of today they switched him back to day shift. Poor guy he finally got his sleep schedule on track and now he is all messed up again. He said the days seem to be going by fast for him though which is good. He just tries to stay busy when he isnt working. He usually sleeps or watches movies.
That is about all that is going on in our world right now.

I forgot!
To post when I heard back from my doctor. So sorry! I know I'm not that great at blogging and it takes me forever to make a new post. Alex just keeps me so busy so by the time he goes to bed at night I have a lot to do and I often put blogging on the back burner.
My doctor called back that same day and said that there was no blood clot according to the ultrasound. The blood test they had done the day before was a d-dimer test which tests for the possibility of a blood clot. It's hard to explain how the test works, but this site explains it way better than I could. So I asked my doctor why I was still not able to extend my arm past a 90 degree angle. She said with all the bruising she saw on my arm, it was more than likely that my muscle was SEVERELY bruised and that it would take time to heal. If it was not better in a week or got worse I was to call her back. I'm happy to say that while the bruises are still there, I can almost extend my arm all the way now and the pain is now at a 2 on a scale of 1-10 compared to the 9 it was at a week ago! Hopefully within a week it will be back to normal. Just to give you an idea of the bruising, here are some pics from last Friday (which was 1 day short of 2 weeks from the day I attempted to give blood). These pictures don't even do the bruising justice. The bruises are even dark now and even now in the 70 degree weather we have, I have to wear long sleeves when I go out so people don't look at me crazy! I actually did have a woman and her husband staring at my arm at Wal-Mart last week!

Updates
So it has been one week today since Scott left. We are adjusting well. Of course we miss him dearly and we think about him constantly. He is doing well and adjusting well himself. Alex asks for Scott some, but I still don't think he quite understands-which is probably a good thing. Lana still looks for her Daddy and doesn't want to go to bed with me at night. She would rather sit and watch the front door for Daddy :( She seems to get a little better each day so hopefully soon she will be okay.
My arm is still not better. It was doing better up until a few days ago when I woke up to find that I could not extend it past a 90 degree angle and I suddenly had bruises popping up all over my lower arm in the most random spots! I can bring my lower arm up to my shoulder and move it in every way except for extending it out straight. So I went to my primary care doctor yesterday and after looking at it she said that maybe a superficial clot had formed later on after the trauma to the vein. These superficial clots can cause infections and that could be why Im having so much pain and cannot move my arm. So she sent me for a blood draw and put a STAT order on it so they would get the results back within 4 hours. She called me 2 1/2 hours after I left her office and said that the levels did come back high and that they had scheduled me for an ultrasound at the hospital at 9am this morning. The ultrasound tech said she didn't see any clots, but the radiologist and my doctor would have to review them and that my doctor would call me. I am giving them until 2 and if I don't hear anything I'm going to call back. So thats where we are right now.

It hurts...Boy does it hurt
Scott left this morning for his deployment overseas. He will be gone a year. A WHOLE year. I really thought I was going to be strong enough to do this, but I don't know if I am. I know I've done this before, but that was 4 years ago when we didn't have a child. Watching Scott say goodbye to Alex this morning was absolutely the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen. I held it together as best as I could for both Scott & Alex. I have to be strong for Alex and for Scott. He is making such a sacrifice for us and I couldn't have asked for a better Husband or Father of my child. I know that when he comes home, this whole year of sacrifices will be worth it, but my heart hurts right now. I can't even explain it. I just want to go lay in bed and watch tv and sleep for a year. I want the year to fly by. But then again I don't because Alex will learn so much in that time. Then I remember I have a son who needs me and needs me to be strong for him, so I will be. I won't let him see me upset.
If you could, please say a Prayer and ask for Him to keep Scott safe and protect him and to pray for his strength as well. And if you could Pray for my strength as well. Thank you.
